Mommy / Daughter Moments

I remember as a girl watching Anne of Green Gables with my mother. It would inevitably be on PBS once a year and we'd sit and watch for hours, while folding laundry, putting up with the constant interruptions of PBS asking for donations. Then, later, Mom received a copy of the movies and we'd watch them for a girl's night or when I was sick. "Anne of Green Gables" is synonymous with time spent and memories with my mom.

So it was with great nostalgia that I watched the Anne of Green Gables movies the past couple of days with MY daughter. I've been sick this week and my little gal pal, Mia, laid with me on the couch and watched "the red-haired movies." What a fun new memory. I wish my mom were here too.

THats so sweet. Made me feel kinda wheepy...maybe just hormones...still postpardom. But so sweet. I can't wait to have those kinds of moments with Lily. I don't have a lot of memories like that with my own mother...sad but true. I always loved your Mom. She is the nicest woman in the world.
Side note--sorry you are sick...I am sure that isn't helping the attempt at normalcy. I HATE it when I am sick. Besides being sick stinks, you get so behind, kids don't understand. Remember the good old days of 9-5 jobs you could actually CALL in sick for. No such luck now. No "sick" days for Moms.

I LOVE that movie and it's seriously one of the reasons I wanted a girl- to sit and watch it with her one day. So cute! Mia is such a little you with her calm, sweet personality!

Sounds like good times Nat! It's fun having the girls grow up a little more so they will actually have the patience to sit and watch those great movies. Feel better :)

That was my daughters favorite movie growing us. Now I hope she has those same memories. I think she was 18 when I bought her an Anne doll and it was her favorite.
